Robert S. Crosbie
Rob Crosbie is chairman and CEO of Crosbie Group Limited. He graduated from Memorial University in 1979 with a B. Comm. and received his ICD.D designation in 2010. While the family business dates back to the 1800’s, since 1991, Rob has been instrumental in leading the growth of the company and taking it in new directions. He took the helm during tough times and successfully began to diversify the company.
Today, Crosbie Group Limited is a privately-held family business involved in offshore oil and gas, onshore industrial, real estate, construction and non-operated investments across Canada and the USA. Currently, the company has approximately 300 employees.
Rob has been defined as a visionary, a risk taker and an innovator. He has received numerous awards and accolades for his entrepreneurial pursuits and his commitment to community building.
He has the honour of being named the 2014 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year. Rob received the 2003 Alumni of the Year award from Memorial University’s Faculty of Business Administration and the 2014 J. D. Eaton Alumni Tribute award for his outstanding contribution to Memorial University.
Rob is a board member of ASCO Canada and Emera NL and chairman of the Deans Advisory Board of the Faculty of Business Administration at Memorial University.
He joins his father, grandfather and great grandfather in the Junior Achievement Newfoundland and Labrador Business Hall of Fame.
