Susan and Kevin Sexton
Susan and Kevin Sexton operate Sexton Lumber Company Limited in Bloomfield.
The origin of Sexton Lumber dates back to the 1940’s when George Sexton, Kevin’s father, entered into the sawmilling industry. In 1992, George passed the sawmill operation on to Kevin. Since that time, Kevin and his wife Susan, the company’s co-owner, have grown Sexton Lumber into a technologically advanced operation. It is the largest mill in the province and features the most up-to-date technology to ensure that maximum efficiencies are achieved. In fact, the technologies employed at Sexton Lumber are identical to those featured at the largest sawmills in North America.
Sexton Lumber Company Limited employs 70 people with an annual production of over 60 million board feet of lumber which is shipped to markets throughout North America. At Sexton Lumber, every piece of the log is utilized.
In addition to growing a thriving export lumber business and a driver of the local economy, Susan and Kevin believe it is important to support community efforts. Whether it is donating firewood to those in need, supporting the food bank, the school, church or fire hall, the Sextons help make their community a better place to live and work.
