Victor L. Young

Vic Young was born in St. John’s. He has a Bachelor of Commerce from Memorial University of Newfoundland and an MBA from the University of Western Ontario. He began his career in government with Treasury Board and became Deputy Minister. He was also special advisor to the Premier. He went on to become the chairman and CEO of Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro; chairman and CEO of Fishery Products International; and chairman of the Royal Commission on Newfoundland and Labrador’s Place in Canada.

He is a director of Bell Aliant, Bell Canada, Blueline Innovations, C-Core, Imperial Oil, McCain Foods and Royal Bank. He is an Officer of the Order of Canada and an honorary graduate of Memorial University.

Vic and his wife Eileen have four children (Andrew, Victoria, Michael, and Katherine) and three grandchildren (Emma, Emilie, and Victor).
